Zara Larsson: “I Flopped…It Doesn’t Scare Me Anymore”
Zara Larsson:

Zara Larsson is a name known to many. Yet, she is also being discovered anew by millions worldwide after going all sorts of viral with anthems from her latest studio album, ‘Midnight Sun.’

The buzz around the project has seen its title track nominated for a GRAMMY Award at the forthcoming 2026 ceremony. Up for Best Dance Pop Recording, the salute serves as the 28-year-old’s first-ever nod at Music’s Biggest Night.

Seizing the moment, Larsson, who is fresh off opening for Tate McRae on her North American tour, is speaking up and out about her journey.

And she is being all sorts of candid.

Full story below…

Sitting down with ABC News, the Swedish chanteuse said of her trajectory:

“I think, looking back, I just felt like I didn’t know what I wanted to do. The project didn’t start from here (gestures to inside). I just kept looking outside of myself. Like, ‘what do people want me to do, what do they like?'”

Continuing, she added:

“It’s almost like I’ve had several…not one hit wonders, but…it’s been like, they know the songs, but they don’t necessarily know me. This time around, I just have it planned out. I feel I know how I want the rollout to look like, and I know how I want my tour to be. I feel like I’m bossing up.

But I’m allowing myself to have more fun (too), because I don’t have the pressure of having to live up to something. I’ve already had success and then my ‘flop era.’ And then it’s like, ‘ok, I flopped.’ So, it doesn’t scare me anymore.”

Opening up about said “era,” she fessed:

“It’s the fact that you are being totally ignored, but you have to push through and be excited – while not being seen. It can be discouraging. But, my love for singing and music goes so deep into th fabric of my DNA and who I am.”

Refreshingly candid!
