Porsha Williams has lifted the lid on what her first season of the ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ paid, and the figure may surprise viewers.

The reality favorite says she earned approximately $60,000 during her 2012 debut run, only to spend a similar amount staging one of the parties filmed for the show.

During a recent podcast conversation, Williams said the paycheck was “nowhere near” $100,000.

“It was like maybe 60-something.”

She added that the money was effectively gone after the on-camera celebration, explaining that early cast members can spend more creating their televised lifestyles than they receive from Bravo.

“I think it’s crazy from the outside looking in, I think the fact that I was building a brand and the opportunity to build it on this platform was the bigger payoff and at that time I’m married, I was established I didn’t need the Cheque necessary, you know what this is a great way to have something for me so that’s what made me continue to do it”

For Williams, however, the platform represented an investment. She stressed that she was married and financially established when she joined the series, so the chance to build an identity and business portfolio of her own outweighed the initial salary.

Suffice it to say, that savvy bet clearly paid off!

Williams serves as the longest-running current Housewife, starring on the show’s recent seventeenth season. More broadly, she is easily one of the most beloved names in the franchise’s history.
