Nicki Minaj has taken aim at Kathy Hochul. And the New York governor is firing back.

Days after joining Donald Trump at a Michigan rally, the Rap star branded Hochul an “evil woman” and urged voters to support her Republican challenger, Bruce Blakeman.

The exchange unfolded Wednesday (October 28), with Minaj using X to attack the governor’s leadership and argue that Democrats should abandon her candidacy.

She wrote:

“Kathy Hochul is an evil woman. The Democratic Party should forfeit her seat because even if she wins, she will be of great consequence to them. Downward spiral for her. She will not escape God’s wrath. She did not denounce evil when she had the chance.”

Asked about the remarks while campaigning in Albany, Hochul suggested that Minaj spend more time outside and less time online.

She also took a swipe at the rapper’s support for Donald Trump, telling reporters:

“And stop going to Trump rallies, it’s kinda poisoning your mind.”

There is history behind this particular political pivot.

In 2018, Minaj encouraged New Yorkers to vote for Hochul when she was seeking reelection as lieutenant governor.

Eight years later, the femcee is publicly backing the other side.

Her latest intervention follows her earlier appeal for young voters to “vote red”, extending a political campaign that has become an increasingly prominent part of her public profile.
