Despite her previous run-in with Madonna fans, ‘Still Bad‘ beauty Lizzo wants them to know she STILL believes Janet Jackson is the true Queen of Pop!

It’s been three years since Lizzo ignited a firestorm of clap backs from Madonna fans after declaring Janet the Queen of Pop, but it appears she’s about to stoke the fire once again.

Hot on the promo trail in support of her comeback singles ‘Still Bad’ and ‘Love in Real Life,’ the 4-time GRAMMY winner visited the ‘Sibling Rivalry‘ podcast to talk about her forthcoming album and all-things Pop music.

While chatting about the latter, the songstress (born Melissa Jefferson) doubled down on her belief about the Madonna vs. Janet debate.

“I have to really clear up some sh-t because people came for me on the Internet because I said Janet Jackson is the Queen of Pop. I said Janet is the Queen of Pop, and here is why…Britney Spears is doing a Janet impression – and she said it. Janet is her diva. There were no such things as ‘Pop divas’ before Janet – she was first. She was famous when Madonna was a kid watching her on TV,” she relayed to hosts Bob the Drag Queen and Monet X Change.

Despite her allegiance to Janet, Jefferson was clear her belief of Jackson’s superiority wasn’t necessarily based solely on talent.

“It’s not because someone is better than the other, [Janet] was just first. And, she is Janet. She invented this sh-t,” Melissa relayed.

Later in her address of the backlash from Madonna fans, Lizzo clarified that she does respect the ‘Like a Prayer’ diva’s place in history.

“Madonna is the Pop icon, and I love her. And, we can’t refute her influence or what she’s done for all of the divas. She birthed a generation,” she said before reflecting on the disses from Madge fans. “I felt like I was fighting for my life because people was dragging me by my ankles.”

At writing, Madonna nor Janet has responded to Lizzo’s latest commentary on the Queen of Pop debate. Their fans, on the other hand, are certainly doing it on their behalfs.
