More than four years after the tragic death of Takeoff, the trial of his accused killer has been delayed yet again.

Patrick Xavier Clark, who is charged with murdering the Migos rapper, will now stand trial on April 15, 2027, according to court documents cited by XXL.

Clark’s trial was originally scheduled to begin on November 5. However, scheduling conflicts on both sides have prompted the postponement.

The prosecution also recently turned over a substantial amount of evidence that Clark’s previous legal counsel had not reviewed, leaving his current defense team needing additional time.

His attorney, Kent Schaffer, explained:

“While there is nothing harmful in that evidence, we still need time to review it. We still fully expect to prevail.”

Takeoff was fatally shot on November 1, 2022, outside 810 Billiards & Bowling in Houston.

Prosecutors say gunfire erupted during an argument over a dice game. The 28-year-old rapper was not involved in the dispute but was struck in the head and pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators identified Clark, a local DJ, through surveillance footage. He has pleaded not guilty and remains free on a $1 million bond.

Meanwhile, Takeoff’s mother, Titania Davenport, filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the venue in June 2023.

That case was settled in December 2025 for an undisclosed sum. However, the rapper’s parents are now engaged in a separate court dispute over how the payout should be divided.

A judge has yet to rule on that matter.
