Keisha Lance Bottoms’ historic victory in Georgia’s gubernatorial race has inspired a social media user to call on Jeezy to revisit one of his most iconic records.
Bottoms made history by becoming the first Black woman elected governor in U.S. history, marking a milestone in American politics and Black representation. The victory has also sparked a cultural moment online, with one Threads user suggesting the Atlanta rapper should update his 2008 anthem “My President.”
In a post shared by @intruebritishfashion on the Atlanta Threads feed, the user wrote, “Jeezy gotta gone head and make the 2026 mix. ‘My Governor is BLACK! My Mayor is too! YEAHHHHH.’”

The post celebrates Bottoms’ gubernatorial win alongside Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, whose leadership in the city adds another layer to the user’s call for a remix.
Jeezy’s “My President,” produced by Tha Bizness, became a soundtrack to the excitement surrounding Barack Obama’s historic 2008 presidential campaign. The record’s declaration that “My president is black” captured a moment of pride and possibility for Black Americans watching a major political barrier fall.
Nearly two decades later, Bottoms’ victory has created another historic moment worthy of celebration. The Threads post imagines a new version of the anthem, trading its presidential declaration for a shoutout to Black leadership in Georgia.
The rapper has not announced a remix or publicly responded to the post.
Still, the suggestion highlights the enduring connection between Black music and political milestones. From Obama’s election to Bottoms’ groundbreaking gubernatorial victory, moments of representation have often found a soundtrack in hip-hop.
And if the internet gets its wish, Jeezy could soon have another reason to declare that Black political leadership is worth celebrating.
