Lil Durk is facing explosive allegations amid a murder-for-hire trial that could see him spend the rest of his life behind bars if convicted.

The first day of his murder-for-hire trial revealed accusations that the rapper attempted to flee the country and paid for the hit with his American Express card.

Prosecutors allege Durk orchestrated a hit on rapper Quando Rondo in retaliation for the 2020 killing of his close friend King Von. The 2022 shooting killed Rondo’s cousin, Saviay’a “Lul Pab” Robinson.

The prosecution revealed new details about how Durk allegedly financed the plot.

According to courtroom updates, the alleged hitmen had their flights paid for with Durk’s Amex card. What’s more, the rapper’s shopping habits also came under scrutiny as he allegedly spent thousands at Niemans and Amiri the same month of the hired hit.

Prosecutors also claim Durk attempted to flee the country when he learned of the investigation. He was arrested in Miami as he allegedly tried to boarded flights to Dubai and Switzer, with a private jet booked to Italy. His defense team maintains he was simply in Miami to work with DJ Khaled.

The defense placed blame on cooperating witness OTF Vonni, claiming he was the true mastermind behind the plot. The trial is expected to last two to four weeks.

Durk faces life in prison if convicted.
