‘I Should’ve Cheated‘ singer Keyshia Cole is finding out she probably should’ve kept quiet when dishing on fellow R&B diva Ashanti during a recent visit to ‘The Breakfast Club.’

As reported here, Cole – hot on the promo trail for the 20th anniversary tour of her debut album ‘The Way It Is‘ – ventured to the radio show on Thursday (May 29) to dish on the jaunt’s star-studded lineup, new music, and more.

While there, the 4-time GRAMMY nominee praised her ‘VERZUZ‘ competitor and even congratulated her for expecting her second child with rapper-husband Nelly.

“Shout out to Ashanti…she’s amazing,” Keyshia relayed before saying, “She got a baby…she pregnant again. Ooh, congratulations girl.”

There’s one problem; Ashanti never announced a second pregnancy.  Later in the interview, ‘Breakfast’ host Loren Lorosa asked Cole to clarify the baby news.

“Omg… I didn’t break anything. I saw this on the internet,” Keyshia responded.

Fans of Ashanti quickly hopped to social media to slam the ‘Love‘ singer for sharing the news without permission. By the weekend, the hoopla got so loud it made its way to Cole’s desk and she quickly addressed the slip-up.

“My apologies… I shouldn’t have said that. I thought she announced it. If that isn’t true i apologize,” she said on Instagram on Saturday (May 31).

At writing, Ashanti has not addressed Cole’s comments nor has she confirmed if she is currently pregnant or not.

The former Murder Inc. star gave birth to her first child, a son named Kareem Kenkaide Haynes, in July 2024.
