J. Cole is leaving the farewell speech on the shelf.
After approaching ‘The Fall-Off’ as his final album, the Rap star says he no longer wants to put an expiration date on his recording career.

Speaking with longtime mentor Mark Pitts in a GQ conversation released October 28, Cole was asked whether retirement remained on the table.
His answer was emphatic:
“No, I’m not using that word at all.”
The Dreamville hitmaker explained that he began making the project expecting it to close his album-making chapter. By the time he finished, however, his outlook had shifted.
Another release does not have a timetable, and Cole stopped short of announcing one. He is simply keeping the possibility open.
For now, his priorities include completing his tour, spending time with family, and exploring more production work.
Released February 6, ‘The Fall-Off’ arrived as a 24-track double album through Dreamville and Interscope. Its accompanying ‘The Fall-Off World Tour’ expanded after strong early ticket demand, with additional shows announced in several major markets.
The project may have started life as a goodbye, but Cole is giving himself room to write another chapter.
