Cynthia Erivo has swapped green for pink in a hilarious new Nollywood spin on ‘Wicked.’

The multihyphenate turned her hand to comedy during her hosting stint on ‘Saturday Night Live UK,’ stepping into the role of Glinda, famously played by Ariana Grande in the blockbuster movies.

But this wasn’t just any trip back to Oz.

Instead, Erivo brought a decidedly Nigerian twist to the beloved musical, complete with outrageous one-liners, Naija-style drama, and a whole lot of laughs.

Full story below…

Airing October 24, the sketch, aptly titled ‘Nigerian Wicked,’ saw Erivo don a blonde wig and pink tracksuit as Glinda, opposite comedian Ayoade Bamgboye as Elphaba.

Trading Broadway polish for exaggerated Nollywood theatrics, the pair embark on a chaotic journey to meet the Wizard of “LagOz.”

Along the way, Glinda slaps Elphaba for being “very classless,” the pair almost lock lips, and their magical wishes take a rather unexpected turn.

Indeed, while Glinda demands a Birkin bag, Elphaba has her sights set on a Brazilian Butt Lift.

As the Wizard, voiced by Hammed Animashaun, hilariously declares:

“She wants a BBL that defies gravity!”

The sketch also plays with the much-discussed romantic chemistry between the characters, serving up a quirky alternative to their big-screen story.

Interestingly, the spoof comes months after Erivo declared herself ready to move beyond ‘Wicked’ following two years of nonstop promotion.

She has clearly kept the door to Oz open, though, having also reunited with Grande onstage in London in August.
