The stars of ‘Children of Blood and Bone’ brought a major dose of magic to New York Comic Con, where an exclusive preview of the forthcoming Fantasy epic drew an excited response.

And with audiences getting a fresh taste of the blockbuster, anticipation for its big-screen arrival received another boost.

Full story below…

Moderated by Rian Johnson, the ‘Knives Out’ filmmaker, the panel explored the African-inspired world of Orïsha and the characters at the heart of the story.

Attendees were treated to an extended trailer and exclusive footage featuring Mbedu’s Zélie training alongside Viola Davis‘ Mama Agba. The official trailer was previously unveiled in July.

The new footage was greeted with cheers, while a dramatic line delivered by Idris prompted screams from the crowd.

Erivo also dished on her villainous character, Admiral Kaea, telling attendees:

“I think I spent such a long time playing heroes, and this one is, for all intents and purposes, a villain.”

The film reunites Prince-Bythewood with Mbedu following ‘The Woman King’ and boasts serious star power beyond the screen.

As previously reported, Tems executive produced its soundtrack, with Burna Boy serving as music consultant. Ayra Starr also makes her acting debut in the film.

The Comic Con appearance adds a fresh coating of buzz around the project.
