TLC‘s Chilli is holding down the fort as her musical sister T-Boz continues to recover from a sickle cell crisis.

The R&B veteran delivered a heartfelt update on her bandmate’s condition during the group’s concert at Fontainebleau Las Vegas, while making an emotional promise to keep their legacy alive onstage.

Addressing concertgoers on October 9, Chilli explained that T-Boz was taking the necessary time to recover after suffering a painful sickle cell episode.

The ‘No Scrubs’ singer told the crowd:

“I’m going to continue to hold it down for my sister.”

She also called on the audience to help carry the show in T-Boz’s absence.

As previously reported, T-Boz was hospitalized in August after experiencing a sickle cell crisis that forced her to step away from the group’s joint ‘It’s Iconic Tour’ with Salt-N-Pepa and En Vogue.

Her representatives subsequently confirmed that she was recovering, stressing that her health remained the priority.

Since then, Chilli has been flying the TLC flag solo, powering through classics such as ‘Waterfalls’, ‘Creep’, and ‘No Scrubs’.

It makes for a bittersweet sight, particularly given the group’s decades-long journey together and the loss of Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes in 2002.

For now, there is no confirmed date for T-Boz’s return.
