“She gets it from her mama” couldn’t ring any truer for rising singer Sy’Rai Smith, the daughter of R&B icon Brandy.
Just as her GRAMMY-winning mother kicked off the year with a stunning performance of the U.S. national anthem at an NBA game, Smith followed suit near the end of the year with a rousing rendition of the same historic tune.
Charging into the Crypto.com Arena in her hometown of Los Angeles on Friday night (November 6), Sy’Rai wowed onlookers (including her superstar mom and uncle Ray J) with her soaring take on ‘The Star Spangled Banner’ before the home team (the LA Lakers) took the victory over the Portland Trail Blazers.
Did you miss her vocal slam dunk? No worries; we’ve got you covered. Re-live the moment inside.
Overjoyed by the showing, Brandy took to Instagram to salute her daughter’s performance.
