According to Romanian news agency AGERPRES, the Bucharest Court of Appeal granted Khalifa’s legal challenge on November 3.

Judges overturned the December 2025 ruling that sentenced the rapper to nine months behind bars. The enforcement warrant was also cancelled.

As previously reported, the sentence had resulted in Khalifa being placed on Romania’s wanted list in May.

The legal drama dates back to July 2024, when the star was charged with illegal drug possession after smoking cannabis onstage at the ‘Beach, Please!’ festival.

Prosecutors alleged that he possessed 18.53 grams of cannabis.

An initial fine of 3,600 Romanian lei was subsequently replaced with a prison sentence following an appeal by prosecutors.

However, Khalifa’s latest victory does not mean the case has been dismissed.

A fresh hearing is scheduled for November 12, when judges will reconsider the prosecution’s appeal. Arrangements are also being made for the rapper to participate via video conference.

For now, the prison sentence and warrant have been wiped away, delivering a significant win for Khalifa and his legal team.
