Timbaland is taking his former managers to court in a bitter battle over his fortune.

For, the GRAMMY-winning producer has filed a $15 million lawsuit against Gary Marella and Bruce Seckendorf, accusing the pair of financial misconduct that allegedly cost him millions and nearly led to the foreclosure of his home.

And with one of the defendants blaming Timbaland’s own spending habits, the hitmaker is firing back.

Full story below…

Filed on October 30 in Los Angeles County Superior Court, the lawsuit alleges that Marella and Seckendorf abused their positions of trust after assuming control of the star’s business affairs in 2016.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Marella allegedly pocketed at least $2.5 million in excessive or unauthorized commissions. He’s also accused of charging personal expenses, including vacations and cosmetic procedures, to undisclosed American Express cards.

The complaint further alleges that Seckendorf failed to make mortgage and tax payments, with Timbaland discovering the financial problems after receiving a foreclosure notice in 2025.

The dispute also involves commissions tied to the producer’s music catalog sale and Verzuz, the platform he co-founded with Swizz Beatz.

However, Marella strongly disputes the allegations. He claims Timbaland had already exhausted his fortune before their working relationship began and maintains that his team generated approximately $75 million in business over nine years.

Responding to those assertions, Timbaland’s attorney, Tynia Coats, told Rolling Stone:

“Mr. Marella is the one attempting to shift responsibility here. Timbaland hired him to manage his business affairs and protect his interests. Holding someone accountable for the responsibilities they were hired and paid to perform is not shifting blame.”

The legal clash comes during an otherwise busy period for the producer, who recently teamed with Chlöe Bailey on their ‘Resurrection’ mixtape.

His lawsuit seeks damages exceeding $15 million and includes claims of fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, and civil theft. The allegations have not been proven in court.
