Playboi Carti has found himself in legal trouble once again.

The rapper was arrested and charged with assault in Utah earlier this month.

Per court records obtained from Wasatch County, Carti was formally charged with assault, a class B misdemeanor, on October 9.

According to police, the incident occurred on October 2, when a limousine driver named Carl Reynolds accused the MC of assaulting both him and Carti’s girlfriend during a heated altercation.

Reynolds told authorities he had been driving Carti and his entourage from the Waldorf Astoria in Park City to a rehearsal location, as the rapper was in town for his ‘Antagonist Tour.’

According to the driver’s account, the situation escalated after an argument broke out between Carti and his girlfriend in the back seat. When Reynolds attempted to intervene, he claims Carti threatened to attack both him and the woman.

Reynolds alleges that Carti struck his girlfriend in the chest, prompting him to pull over on the highway in Heber City for safety reasons. He reportedly urged Carti’s head of security to remove the rapper from his vehicle and have him switch to another car.

Before the situation could be fully defused, Reynolds claims Carti unexpectedly punched him in the face, leaving him with a swollen, bruised jaw and a possible whiplash injury. The driver told police that Carti’s head of security eventually stepped in to separate the parties and stop the fight.

As of writing, Carti has yet to issue a public statement regarding the incident.
