MTV Video Music Awards 2025 to Air on CBS

In an unprecedented move, the MTV Video Music Awards 2025 is set to air on CBS in a major simulcast.

For over four decades, the ceremony has taken residence at the epicentre of Pop culture and delivered moments that are etched into the fabric of history.

Now, its newest chapter will be heading to national TV. For, the VMAs will broadcast on CBS beginning with its 2025 ceremony, which airs live from the UBS Arena in New York on September 7 at 8:00-11:00 PM, ET/5:00-8:00 PM PT.

The three-hour broadcast will be shown simultaneously on MTV (naturally) and will also stream on Paramount+.

A one-hour live pre-show to air across Paramount Media Networks.

Proving that it still has ample mileage, the MTV VMAs 2024 delivered its biggest multi-network audience in four years (+25% YOY) and ranked as the most social “VMAs” in show history, with 66.7 million social interactions.
