Blige will executive produce through her Blue Butterfly Production banner, alongside Prince-Bythewood, her husband Reggie Rock Bythewood, and producer Debra Martin Chase. Natalie Baszile is also attached to executive produce.

Set in North Carolina, the story centres on Babs, a successful interior designer who has built her own fortune, and Nora, her best friend from a wealthy family. Their seemingly stable worlds are thrown into turmoil following an affair and a police confrontation involving Nora’s adopted son.

Prince-Bythewood, whose directing credits include ‘Love & Basketball,’ ‘The Woman King,‘ and more recently ‘Children of Blood and Bone,’ is also set to direct the pilot.

While ‘Good People’ remains in development, the project brings together a powerful team of creatives, with further details yet to be announced.
