Boxing champion Claressa Shields takes her job as “fighter” very seriously in and outside the ring.

Just ask Kelly Price – the embattled R&B singer currently on the receiving end of massive backlash for singling out Black women during a fiery rant against critics who slammed her appearance at a recent show in Memphis.

As thousands of social media commenters flooded Price’s pages with fresh insults for her stinging take, Shields entered the chat to defend the 9x GRAMMY nominee.

As previously reported, the Gospel & R&B singer rocked headlines for detailing a negative experience she had with Black female commenters weighing in on her physique and style of dress.

“Black women you are some of the most nasty, disrespectful people on God’s planet Earth. The things that you say about other Black women…find yourself,” she said before branding them “keyboard thugs” in a now-viral rant.

While thousands of social media commenters took to Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Tik Tok to further diss the ‘As We Lay’ diva, Shields hopped in to fight for her.

“She ain’t lying,” Shields said after playing Price’s video rant and further co-signing the sentiment. “Y’all got so much to say about those who you think you can judge. You talk about their clothes, shoes, how they look, their size…but your life’s not together.”

Later in her response rant, Claressa asserted her belief it’s the Black women’s insecurities and unhappiness with their own lives that lead them to be so critical of Price – even demanding they go apologize to the songstress for upsetting her.

“I’m glad she pointed out that it’s mostly Black women. Y’all make yourselves look so bad on [social media],” Shields shared before offering a less-than-diplomatic solution. “I wish I could find these girls and beat they a– [because] I love fighting so much.”

At writing, Kelly has not publicly addressed Claressa’s support or the backlash that ensued from her original video.
