Lil Wayne and Madi Cannon appear to have pressed play on their love story again.

Months after Wayne publicly confirmed that the pair had split, the rapper has now revealed that they are not only back together; they are engaged.

The update came during a video message Wayne recorded to congratulate B.G. on his engagement to Brooke Jones.

However, viewers quickly noticed that Cannon was standing behind Wayne throughout the clip. That alone sparked chatter, especially given how publicly the Young Money maestro had addressed their breakup earlier this year.

Wayne then confirmed the bigger news: he and Cannon are now officially engaged.

The reveal marks quite the U-turn.

A few months ago, reports suggested that the couple had already taken that step, but Wayne shut the speculation down and shared that they had instead called it quits. At the time, he said the split was necessary to protect Cannon.

That announcement arrived around the same period Wayne faced criticism for missing a concert in Maine. He later made good on that stop in Bangor, while the rest of the tour continued.

As of now, it is unclear whether Wayne and Cannon were engaged before the breakup, re-engaged after reconciling, or simply chose to confirm the news on their own terms.
