Britney Spears is once again facing legal turbulence.

Per prosecutors in Ventura County, the 44-year-old was officially charged following her March 4 arrest near her home in Westlake Village.

Dispatch audio reportedly indicated she was swerving between lanes before being pulled over by police.

Following the stop, she was taken to a hospital for blood testing before being processed at a nearby jail, where she became emotional.

Authorities say she may be offered a “wet reckless” plea deal at her arraignment on May 4. The option is typically extended to first-time offenders or cases involving lower blood alcohol levels and no accidents or injuries.

Her manager addressed the situation, stating:

“This was an unfortunate and inexcusable incident. Britney will take the right steps, comply with the law, and we hope this marks the start of long-overdue change in her life.”
