2 Chainz and Keith Lee are serving up a conversation about celebrity privilege, restaurant reviews and whether everyday customers receive the same treatment as famous faces.

During an appearance on Kirk Franklin’s “Den of Kings,” the Atlanta rapper revisited what he believed to be negative review of one of his (and others’) restaurant ventures. While 2 Chainz acknowledged that Lee was entitled to his opinion, the discussion quickly turned to the difference between celebrity perks and the experience of regular customers.

2 Chainz defended the special treatment that comes with fame, saying, “I’m an entertainer and obviously we get perks that other people don’t get.”

The rapper continued, “I don’t stand in line at the airport. I don’t do none of that because I done work my a— off to do this.”

Lee, however, explained that his reviews are about more than the food. The popular TikTok critic wants his followers to understand what they can expect when visiting a restaurant themselves.

He recalled sending his mother-in-law to 10 Atlanta restaurants where she struggled to receive service. When Lee arrived, he said, the treatment changed.

“I go in table ready right now,” Lee said.

The food critic added that he takes his influence seriously because people travel and spend money based on his recommendations.

“I don’t ever want to put nobody in a situation that they get a different experience only because they not Keith Lee,” he said.

The conversation also addressed whether Lee’s background as a professional mixed martial arts fighter influences his food reviews. 2 Chainz questioned whether years of strict dieting and weight management could affect Lee’s expectations.

Lee defended his knowledge of food, explaining that his athletic background introduced him to nutrition and eventually helped spark his passion for cooking.

He also reminded the rapper that restaurants invite him to review their food.

“You ask me to come get my opinion, but then you get upset because my opinion not what you wanted to hear,” Lee said.

The exchange remained respectful, but it highlighted a larger question about the restaurant industry: When celebrity status changes the customer experience, how much can a review tell everyday diners?
