Tyler Perry is bringing his influence to a whole new stage: Georgia politics.

For, the entertainment mogul has been tapped for a major role in the incoming administration of Keisha Lance Bottoms, following her history-making election as the state’s next governor.

Bottoms announced this week that Perry will serve as a co-chair of her transition team, dubbed ‘Georgia’s Promise.’

As confirmed by FOX 5 Atlanta, the filmmaker joins a heavyweight lineup that includes Home Depot co-founder Arthur Blank, former Walgreens CEO Roz Brewer, and Jason Carter, grandson of former President Jimmy Carter.

Speaking at the Georgia State Capitol, Bottoms declared:

“Now the work begins.”

The transition team will help prepare the incoming governor’s administration ahead of her January inauguration, with priorities spanning healthcare, education, and the cost of living.

And Perry’s involvement isn’t super surprising.

Beyond building one of Hollywood’s most successful independent entertainment empires, the billionaire media mogul has maintained deep ties to Atlanta through his sprawling Tyler Perry Studios and philanthropic work.

He also has an established creative connection with Bottoms.

The former Atlanta mayor previously served as an executive producer on Perry’s Netflix political comedy ‘She the People,’ later renamed ‘Miss Governor.’

Now, their relationship is moving from fictional politics to the real thing.

As reported, Bottoms shattered a centuries-old political barrier when she defeated Republican Rick Jackson on November 3.

Her victory also ended a 28-year wait for a Democratic governor election win in Georgia.

With Perry now helping prepare the next administration, the ATL power players are entering an important new chapter.
