Tupac Murder: Keffe D Sentenced to 40 Years to LIFE in Prison

The decades-long fight for justice in the murder of Tupac Shakur has reached a historic new chapter.

Thirty years after the Rap legend was gunned down in Las Vegas, Duane ‘Keffe D’ Davis, the man convicted of orchestrating the deadly attack, has been handed a lengthy prison sentence.

And the landmark ruling comes alongside heartbreaking words from Tupac’s family, who have waited three decades for accountability.

Full story below…

On Tuesday (October 13), a Las Vegas judge sentenced the 63-year-old former gang leader to 40 years to life in prison for the 1996 killing.

The punishment follows the historic guilty verdict delivered in August, when jurors convicted Davis of first-degree murder after deliberating for less than three hours.

Prosecutors argued that Davis masterminded the retaliatory drive-by shooting following an altercation involving his nephew, Orlando Anderson, and Tupac’s entourage at the MGM Grand.

Although Davis was not accused of pulling the trigger, his own accounts of the killing in interviews and his memoir became crucial evidence against him.

The sentencing hearing also saw Tupac’s siblings confront the devastating impact of losing the superstar, who was just 25 when he died.

His sister, Sekyiwa Shakur, told the court:

“The loss of Tupac crippled my family emotionally.”

His brother, Mopreme Shakur, delivered another heartbreaking declaration, saying:

“All Pac got was a death sentence.”

Despite the ruling, the legal saga may not be entirely over. Davis has vowed to appeal his conviction.

Meanwhile, Tupac’s family’s perspective on the case is set to take center stage in a forthcoming Sky documentary chronicling the landmark trial and its impact.
