Directed by Anthony Wonke, ‘In the Shadows’ follows Ali’s journey from arriving in Britain as a refugee to pursuing her boxing dreams, initially without her family’s knowledge.

Along the way, she navigates family expectations, cultural pressures and her determination to forge a future on her own terms.

Her remarkable achievements include becoming a British boxing champion and making history as the first boxer to represent Somalia at the Olympic Games.

Joining Jobson in the cast are Finn Cole as Ali’s husband Richard Moore and Gershwyn Eustache Jnr as her coach Clinton.

Following its debut at the BFI London Film Festival, the film arrives in cinemas nationwide this Friday.
