Teyana Taylor is living proof that patience and perseverance pay off. Once the teenager teaching Beyoncé the ‘Chicken Noodle Soup’ dance, the Harlem-born multi-hyphenate has now evolved into one of Hollywood’s most dynamic forces.

This year, Taylor steps behind the camera for her directional debut ‘Get Lite,’ while starring in Paul Thomas Anderson’s ‘One Battle After Another’ and celebrating a Grammy nomination for her explosive comeback album ‘Escape Room.’

Speaking on how she does it all, she told Elle:

“Honestly, the wait is not punishment; it’s preparation. A lot of times, when we’re going through something or things are not going our way, or in the timing that we want them to go, we keep asking, “But why?” And it’s just understanding that it’s okay if something is not yours. Yes, it can hurt, but that was not for you. I used to pray for times like this to be in this position. Don’t harp on what’s not for you; no matter what that is, whether it is in the business, in a friendship, or in a relationship, I will be okay.”

Now, with faith as her compass and Harlem as her foundation, Taylor is entering a new era, one rooted in gratitude and divine timing, she says:

From teenage prodigy to powerhouse visionary, Taylor is back and blooming, and  this time she says:
