Music giant Spotify has unveiled a set of new policies for AI-generated content on the platform.
Full story below…
During a press briefing, the executives narrated a three-pronged approach when tackling AI-enabled fraud, while supporting its artistic use. These three key policies include:
- Improved enforcement of impersonation violations
- A new spam filtering system
- AI disclosures for music with “industry-standard credits”
In a statement, the streaming juggernaut said:
“At its best, AI is unlocking incredible new ways for artists to create music and for listeners to discover it. At its worst, AI can be used by bad actors and content farms to confuse or deceive listeners, push ‘slop’ into the ecosystem, and interfere with authentic artists working to build their careers.”
As part of its measures, Spotify has removed 75 million songs (yes, you read correctly), it deems as AI spam from its service.
