Rihanna appears to clap back after EJ Johnson says her arrival delayed Dior show

Social media users connected Rihanna’s one-word comment to Johnson’s earlier criticism, though neither has confirmed the two were related.

Rihanna appears to have responded to EJ Johnson with a single word after the reality television personality complained that her late arrival delayed Christian Dior’s Paris Fashion Week show.

People reported that Johnson shared a recap after attending Dior’s Spring/Summer 2027 show in Paris on Sept. 29. Johnson praised the presentation but claimed it started an hour late because Rihanna was late, adding that they “didn’t care to wait for her.”

Days later, a separate video circulated showing Johnson outside a Paris hotel after posing for photographers. In the clip, Johnson appeared to have difficulty getting back inside as someone at the entrance blocked access.

Rihanna then appeared in the comments with a one-word response: “Damn.”

The timing of the comment led social media users and entertainment outlets to interpret it as a response to Johnson’s earlier remarks. Neither Rihanna nor Johnson has explicitly said the comment was connected to the Dior complaint, and People said representatives for both had not responded to requests for comment.

Johnson had already criticized Rihanna’s fashion choices earlier this year. After the 2026 Met Gala, they called the event a “graveyard” and said many of the looks were “awful,” while pointing to Rihanna’s yellow Guo Pei cape from the 2015 gala as an example of a stronger fashion moment.

Rihanna attended Dior’s Sept. 29 presentation in an all-black look and was among several high-profile guests at Paris Fashion Week. People also noted she had attended the Matières Fécales Spring 2027 show the previous day, where her arrival reportedly came after the scheduled start.
