‘RHOA’ stars Pinky Cole and Shamea Morton Mwangi announce baby news

Pinky Cole is expecting her fourth child, while Shamea Morton Mwangi revealed she and her husband are preparing to welcome their third via surrogate.

The baby announcements from “Real Housewives of Atlanta” (RHOA) Pinky Cole and Shamea Morton Mwangi closed Season 17 with hopeful family news after storylines involving Cole’s first season and Morton Mwangi’s family journey. Cole is carrying her fourth child, while Morton Mwangi and her husband, Gerald Mwangi, are expecting their third child through a surrogate.

AOL reported that Morton Mwangi revealed her pregnancy news in a self-filmed update recorded three weeks after production ended. “We’re pregnant,” she said beside Gerald. Bravo has not announced a due date or the baby’s sex.

The update followed an emotional surrogacy storyline. Morton Mwangi said she and Gerald had experienced more than five failed embryo transfers and had one male embryo remaining. She met with a new surrogate during the season and said she wanted to know they had tried every available option before considering another path to expand their family.

Morton Mwangi and Gerald are already parents to daughters Shya and Shiloh. Shiloh was born through surrogacy in February 2023 after the couple went through seven rounds of in vitro fertilization and multiple failed transfers.

Cole shared her pregnancy news during the first part of the Season 17 reunion. When host Andy Cohen referred to her eventful first season, the Slutty Vegan founder said the only “B” word she wanted to discuss was “baby.” Her castmates cheered as she confirmed that she and husband Derrick Hayes are expecting another child in December.

Cole and Hayes share daughter D Ella and sons Derrick Hayes Jr. and David Asher Hayes, known as Dash. Hayes also has two daughters from previous relationships.

Bravo has not released further details about Morton Mwangi’s surrogate pregnancy. Cole has not revealed the baby’s sex, but she joked that the child could receive a Bravo-inspired name.
