Raven-Symoné reflects on cosmetic surgeries she regrets having as a teen

The actress  Raven-Symoné says she regrets undergoing breast reduction surgery as a teenager and wishes she had waited until after puberty.

Raven-Symoné is reflecting on cosmetic surgeries she underwent as a teenager, saying she regrets having breast reductions at such a young age and wishes she had been able to say no.

The “That’s So Raven” star discussed the experience during a recent appearance on the Allure Perspectives podcast. As reported by BuzzFeed, she opened up about breast reductions she had as a minor and the circumstances surrounding those procedures.

Raven, now 40, said she has regrets about undergoing breast reduction surgery during her teenage years. “Do I have any regrets about it? Yes, because I was too young,” she said.

She added, “I should have gotten it done after puberty,” describing the decision as something that happened hastily despite saying the procedures themselves were performed well.

“They still look good,” Raven said, before adding that she wishes she had been stronger to refuse the procedure.

The actor has been open about undergoing two breast reductions and liposuction during her teen years. Raven-Symoné has also previously discussed weight-shaming she says she experienced while growing up in the entertainment industry.

In 2023, she said her father, Christopher B. Pearman, strongly encouraged her first breast reduction at age 15. She also recalled being told that she needed the procedure to get a television show.

Raven-Symoné says she went from a triple-D breast size to a B following the reduction. Her latest comments revisit that period from the perspective of an adult reflecting on decisions made while she was still a teenager.

Her reflections also underscore the difference between making a personal medical decision as an adult and navigating those decisions while still growing up. This is particularly magnified when entertainment-industry expectations and body-shaming are involved. Rather than simply revisiting her past procedures, Raven is now speaking about what she wishes she could have done differently.
