R. Kelly is making a bold move from behind bars – pleading with President Donald Trump to save him from what he claims is a life-threatening setup.

The disgraced R&B singer, who serving a 30-year sentence for racketeering and sex trafficking, has filed an emergency motion for clemency, alleging that three federal prison officials conspired to have him killed.

His attorney, Beau Brindley, told PEOPLE:

“We are in open discussions with people close to President Trump. And those discussions have expanded and intensified since we file our motion.”

“We believe that President Trump is the only person with the courage to help us.”

The legal team claims Kelly was thrown into solitary confinement after filing the motion, left without access to his family, food, or even basic hygiene.

Even more shocking? An Aryan Brotherhood inmate allegedly confessed he was sent to Kelly’s unit to kill him, a plan he abandoned due to a change of heart.
