Karl-Anthony Towns and Jordyn Woods are giving fans a glimpse of their first trip as newlyweds, trading the spotlight of their Malibu wedding for wildlife, scenic landscapes and a quieter escape across East Africa.
Woods shared a video montage from the couple’s honeymoon on Instagram, offering snapshots from their travels after their Aug. 15 wedding. In the caption, she described the experience as something she had struggled to put into words.
“A dream I didn’t know how to put into words, lived out in the wild with the love of my life,” Woods wrote. “Africa, you were beyond anything I could have imagined.”
Woods described the honeymoon as “walking through a dream,” while the footage showed the couple enjoying their time away during Towns’ NBA offseason.
In additional comments in the post as folks wondered about where the couple ventured, Woods identified stops in Nairobi, Tanzania and Zanzibar, giving more detail to the “Africa” destination Woods referenced in her post.
The getaway comes just weeks after Towns and Woods exchanged vows in Malibu. The couple married on Aug. 15 in an outdoor ceremony attended by family and a lengthy list of celebrity guests. Their relationship became public in 2020 after they had first developed a close friendship.
For Towns, the honeymoon follows an extraordinary offseason. The New York Knicks center helped the team capture its first NBA championship in 53 years, defeating the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals before turning his attention to wedding preparations.
The timing also gives the couple a brief window to enjoy married life before Towns returns to basketball. The Knicks are scheduled to open their 2026-27 campaign against the Philadelphia 76ers on Oct. 20.
For now, though, the basketball court is taking a back seat. Woods’ honeymoon footage captures a newly married couple embracing a different kind of adventure, far removed from the championship celebrations and celebrity-filled wedding that defined much of their summer.
