Created by Ben Watkins of ‘Cross’ fame, ‘The Greatest’ chronicles the transformation of a young Cassius Clay from a promising Louisville boxer into one of the most influential figures in sporting history.

Alongside the championship fights, the series explores his family relationships, political awakening, and determination to define himself in a changing America.

Best leads a heavyweight ensemble that includes Omari Hardwick as Ali’s father Cassius Clay Sr., Dana Gourrier as his mother Odessa, Amin Joseph as Sonny Liston, and Giovanni Ribisi as trainer Angelo Dundee.

Also appearing are Michael Ealy as Malcolm X and Kai Parham as Rudy Clay.

Notably, the project is the first authorized scripted series about Ali, with his widow Lonnie Ali serving as an executive producer.

Power players behind the production include Michael B. Jordan‘s Outlier Society and JAY-Z‘s Roc Nation.

All eight episodes of ‘The Greatest’ premiere globally on November 4, exclusively on Prime Video.
