Netflix has released the teaser trailer for the upcoming action thriller ‘The Rip’, and it’s delivering on the action.

That’s not all.

It’s also bringing big stars such as Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, and Teyana Taylor with it.

The film is set in Miami and follows a team of cops who discover millions of dollars hidden in a rundown stash house.

Though it begins as a big bust, it soon turns into a fight to survive the night, as outsiders learn about the money. Loyalties are questioned and tested to the max.

Director Joe Carnahan dished on how the film was inspired by a close friend who led tactical narcotics for Miami-Dade police. Indeed, the film title is Miami cop slang and means seizing a criminal’s cash, drugs, or weapons.

The star-studded ensemble includes Damon (Lieutenant Dane Dumars), Affleck (Detective Sergeant J.D. Byrne), Steven Yeun (Detective Mike Ro ) Taylor (Detective Numa Baptiste), Sasha Calle (Desi), Catalina Sandino Moreno (Detective Lolo Salazar), Scott Adkins, Kyle Chandler (DEA Agent Mateo “Matty” Nix), Néstor Carbonell, and Lina Esco.

This follows Taylor’s upcoming flick ‘One Battle After Another’, set to drop September 26.

‘The Rip’ is set to premiere on January 16, 2026, on Netflix.
