Critically acclaimed author Roxane Gay sees her 2017 autobiography ‘Hunger: A Memoir of (My) Body’ adapted to a small-screen biopic in Lifetime’s forthcoming original film ‘Surviving the Silence.’

Chronicling her triuumph over trauma including surviving sexual assault and battling issues with body image and confidence, Roxane’s story is one of an embattled woman who overcame physical and emotional violence to reclaim her voice, identity, and the lifelong navigation of a society that often limits women by their age and appearance.

Narrated by Gay, ‘Surviving’ stars familiar faces like Hilda Martin, Sunnii E. Bartee, Julia Harnett, Ron Robinson, and more.
