Police say Alex Perez, 23, displayed a knife during a dispute with a production worker and was taken into custody without incident.

A Brooklyn man was arrested after allegedly threatening a production worker with a knife during filming of “Miami Vice ’85,” starring Michael B. Jordan and Austin Butler, late Friday, Oct. 23.

Alex Perez, 23, was arrested shortly after 11 p.m. near Avenue N and McDonald Avenue in Brooklyn following an argument with a 42-year-old production worker, TheWrap reported. Police said Perez displayed a knife during the dispute, leaving the worker afraid for his safety.

Video obtained by TMZ showed a worker escorting Perez away from the filming area before Perez appeared to pull a large knife from his sweatshirt. The NYPD said officers recovered the weapon and took Perez into custody without incident.

Perez faces charges of second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. TMZ also reported that Perez shouted a racial slur at the worker after being handcuffed.

TMZ reported that Perez had been disrupting filming by running across the set before a staff member confronted him. TheWrap’s account does not establish whether Jordan or Butler was present during the confrontation.

“Miami Vice ’85” is directed by Joseph Kosinski, whose credits include “Top Gun: Maverick” and “F1.” Jordan portrays Ricardo “Rico” Tubbs, while Butler plays James “Sonny” Crockett, roles originated on television by Philip Michael Thomas and Don Johnson.

The original “Miami Vice” aired from 1984 to 1989. The upcoming film draws inspiration from the show’s pilot and first season, depicting the glamour and corruption of Miami in the 1980s.

The film’s supporting cast includes John Leguizamo, André Holland, Walton Goggins, Whitney Peak and Camila Morrone. Universal Pictures lists a May 19, 2028, theatrical release.

Perez faces two criminal charges over the alleged knife threat. Police identified the production worker as the complainant and reported no injuries.
