Macklemore announces ‘Free Palestine Tour’ after Ed Sheeran tour exit

Macklemore is launching a new “Free Palestine Tour” with performances scheduled for October 26 in Dublin, October 29 in Paris and October 30 in London, according to TMZ. The announcement comes days after his removal from Ed Sheeran’s tour became a public dispute over Macklemore’s outspoken support for Palestinians.

The artist announced the tour on social media. He said he believes there has been a growing global focus on what he describes as “Palestinian liberation.” In his announcement, the rapper argued that artists are increasingly being asked to use their platforms for more than entertainment.“It’s 2026. Being apolitical during a genocide doesn’t work anymore.”

Macklemore also called on artists to educate themselves, engage with communities and respond when support for Palestinians face attempts at censorship or silencing. The rapper said he has been contacting other artists who have used their platforms in solidarity with Palestinians. He acknowledged that details surrounding the broader tour are still being worked out.

The tour announcement follows Macklemore’s departure from Ed Sheeran’s concert dates. Sheeran has publicly said he had no involvement in the decision to remove Macklemore from the tour. Macklemore, meanwhile, has characterized the situation as part of a broader effort to silence pro-Palestinian speech.

Macklemore indicated that additional U.S. dates may be in development. He does not expect to perform at Gillette Stadium, owned by Robert Kraft’s Kraft Group. Presale tickets for the announced European shows are scheduled to begin on Monday. Macklemore says proceeds from the tour will be used to support the Palestinian cause.
