Bobb’e J. Thompson is set to serve time in federal prison after being sentenced for illegally possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.

Thompson was sentenced to 30 months in prison by U.S. District Court Judge Leonard T. Strand in Sioux City after pleading guilty on April 28.

In addition to the two-and-a-half-year sentence, the ‘Role Models’ actor will serve three years of supervised release.

According to federal prosecutors, the ‘Wild ‘N Out’ star was pulled over by law enforcement in September 2025 after being clocked driving at 104 mph in a 70 mph zone.

When an officer approached during the traffic stop, Thompson and a passenger were seen switching seats. The officer also noted the smell of marijuana. A search of the vehicle uncovered dispensary-bought marijuana and a fully loaded .40-caliber handgun with a 15-round magazine and a round in the chamber inside his backpack.

Authorities determined that the handgun had been reported stolen from a vehicle in Kansas City.

Prosecutors also pointed to the former child star’s prior criminal history, including 2020 convictions for battery causing serious bodily injury and assault with force, as well as a 2022 conviction for prohibited possession of a firearm.

Thompson remains in U.S. Marshals custody pending his transfer to a federal facility.
