The celebrity stylist says he struggled to meet Palmer’s expectations while she was keeping her pregnancy private and believes she made the right business decision.
Celebrity stylist Law Roach says he understands why Keke Palmer fired him while she was pregnant: he couldn’t deliver the looks she wanted without drawing attention to her baby bump.
In a video shared by Spill, taken from the October 20 episode of “Aspire with Emma Grede,” Roach revisited the end of their working relationship. He said Palmer wanted to keep her pregnancy private, while his instinct as a stylist was to show off her growing bump.
Roach admitted that the disconnect affected his work. He couldn’t find outfits that matched what Palmer had asked him to do, despite his standing as one of Hollywood’s most recognizable stylists.
“I couldn’t get the looks right,” he told Grede. He said he did not view Palmer’s decision as a personal rejection and believed she was right to make a change.
The fashion expert recalled Palmer calling him to explain that, despite his reputation, he was not the right stylist for her. Rather than challenging her decision, Roach said he respected how clearly she knew what she wanted.
Palmer was waiting to announce her pregnancy publicly at the time. She eventually confirmed that she was expecting during her December 2022 “Saturday Night Live” hosting debut, revealing her baby bump during the opening monologue. She welcomed her son, Leodis, in February 2023.
The story is not a newly disclosed falling-out. Roach and Palmer discussed the same disagreement at an October 2024 event promoting his book, “How to Build a Fashion Icon.” Both spoke warmly about one another, with Palmer teasing him about enjoying a good verbal jab.
Roach also addressed the firing on Palmer’s own podcast in July 2025. His latest account again places the responsibility on his inability to meet her needs, rather than blaming her for wanting privacy.
Law Roach said he tells the story with pride because Palmer knew what she wanted and made the decision she thought was right for her.
