The Olympic gold medalist’s new documentary, “Fair Play: The Jordan Chiles Story,” will follow her comeback journey ahead of the Los Angeles Games.
Jordan Chiles is bringing cameras along for her next Olympic chapter. A Jordan Chiles documentary titled “Fair Play: The Jordan Chiles Story” will follow the gold medalist as she prepares for the 2028 Los Angeles Games. Chiles announced her Olympic comeback in September, a month after she discussed how she protects her mental health while living in the public eye.
Production is underway on the feature-length film, which is scheduled to premiere on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ in fall 2027, What’s On Disney Plus reported. Disney’s Andscape division is working with Campfire Studios and Select Entertainment on the project, with Trishtan Williams directing.
The film will follow Chiles inside the gym and during moments away from competition. It will explore the pressure of competing at the highest level, the attention that comes with Olympic success and how she approaches the next phase of her career.
Chiles, 25, said the project gives her a chance to tell her story on her own terms. She credited gymnastics with teaching her resilience and perseverance and said the film would let her reflect on her experiences while “reclaiming my narrative” as she works toward LA28.
The gymnast helped Team USA win silver at the Tokyo Olympics, held in 2021, before adding a team gold medal at the 2024 Paris Games. Beyond competition, she has released her memoir, “I’m That Girl,” and finished third on “Dancing With the Stars.”
Williams, whose credits include Netflix’s basketball documentary series “Starting 5,” said she wants to show more of Chiles than audiences see during competitions. She described Chiles as a young woman navigating major expectations while finding ways to define herself.
Chiles’ return follows the end of her collegiate gymnastics career at UCLA. The four-time NCAA champion is also slated to serve as a student coach for UCLA’s 2027 season as she pursues a spot on the U.S. Olympic team.
