Jada Pinkett Smith is asking a court to authorize a mental examination of Bilaal Salaam, the former Will Smith associate suing her for $3 million.

According to TMZ, court docs show that Jada wants Salaam to undergo an examination lasting approximately five to six hours.

Her legal team argues that Salaam placed his psychological and emotional condition at the center of the lawsuit by alleging that her conduct forced him to live overseas, contributed to the loss of a long-term relationship, and caused high blood pressure.

The examination request is not a court order, and a judge has not yet ruled on it.

Salaam previously alleged that tensions erupted after he declined to assist with crisis management following Will’s 2022 Oscars altercation with Chris Rock. He also claimed the Smiths objected to his planned memoir. Jada has denied his accusations.

The request marks the latest escalation in a case that has already seen Salaam seek depositions from both Jada and Will.

As previously reported, his complaint alleges that the actress threatened him and caused severe emotional distress.

Several portions of Salaam’s case have already been dismissed, while the remaining claims continue. Earlier proceedings also saw his efforts to question Jada under oath become another point of contention.

The court will now determine whether the requested examination is appropriate for the damages being claimed.
