Hot 97 is officially stepping into the news space.

The hip-hop brand announced the launch of Hot 97 News, a daily live national television show set to debut in January 2026. 

This program marks Hot 97’s first major move into television news, blending journalism, Hip-Hop, conversation, and culture into a new format.

Leading the new format are Lana Harris, Ronndell Smith, and Million Connally-Cooper, who will guide discussions, break down the day’s biggest topics, and provide audiences with insight.

The Hot 97 News announcement follows the abrupt ending of its morning show, ‘Ebro in the Morning,’ a move that has ignited debate among fans.

While the media giant has not publicly explained the decision, former host Ebro Darden has suggested that his political views and critiques of major institutions may have contributed to the decision.

The new show will broadcast and stream nationally across all Hot 97 TV and digital platforms beginning January 2026.
