In the ongoing legal battle, the embattled star’s defense strategy includes challenging his mental capacity to commit the alleged crimes.
His legal team has even secured a Columbia professor to testify about his mental condition.
Arguing that it had a significant bearing on his ability to consent or engage in the alleged actions.
However, prosecutors have dismissed this line of defense, stating that the doctor’s testimony is irrelevant.
They point out that the doctor has never personally examined Diddy and that his opinion would be based solely on experience with other individuals, not on any direct assessment of the mogul.
Additionally, prosecutors are attempting to block the admission of testimony from a forensic video expert regarding the controversial hotel beating video involving Cassie. But the judge has ruled that the footage will be allowed as evidence.
As the trial approaches, the judge has yet to make a ruling on these critical points, with just one week remaining before proceedings begin.
Jury selection for his trial is scheduled to begin on May 5, with opening statements to follow on May 12.
