The pair, who had been married for more than a decade, share two boys and welcomed millions of people into their world.
Months after their divorce announcement shocked social media, Kristy Scott and Desmond Scott have finalized their split.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, both parties agreed to a settlement which covered the division of property, custody of their two children and support.
In January, Kristy filed for divorce from Desmond after 11 years, citing infidelity as the reason. While both Desmond and Kristy did their best to keep their divorce out of the public eye, the conversation surrounding them shifted after Desmond issued a public statement admitting he had done things “he was not proud of” following his request for separation.
“Kristy is the mother of our children and that will always come first,” Desmond wrote at the time. “I remain fully committed to being an active, present, and loving parent to our boys, as have always been.”
“I took responsibility for those actions, I shared this with her directly and personally, and ultimately we decided to divorce,” he concluded. “l ask for privacy and compassion as we navigate this difficult chapter of our lives. Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years. I’m grateful for that support.”
In June, Desmond opened up about adjusting to a new custody situation since splitting from Kristy, noting that the “limited time” he has with his sons was eating at him.
“As you may or may not know I’ve always been a very involved and active Dad. Children are such a gift from God and deserve love, time and attention,” he wrote, noting how his quality time with the boys included opening Pokémon cards, watching “Dragon Ball Z” and other activities.
“I cooked here and there, visited granny and grandpa, played with cousin and uncles, a lot of arm wrestling in which I sometimes lose (if they eat all of their chicken, I tell them it makes them stronger gotta play mind games sometimes),” he added. “Oh and I be tired but the good kind. There’s no better feeling than having the love of your kids.”
