D4vd Denied Bail at Arraignment, Pleads Not Guilty to Murder of Teen Girl Found Dead in His Car

Hours after the unveiling of his mugshot on Monday (April 20), singer D4vd entered a not guilty plea at his arraignment on murder charges in connection to the death of a 14-year-old girl.

As reported here, Los Angeles County prosecutors arrested and formally charged the rising star (born David Anthony Burke) with the killing of Celeste Rivas Hernandez – a once-missing teenage girl whose badly decomposed body was discovered in the trunk of his impounded Tesla in September 2025.

Despite Burke’s not guilty plea on Monday, Judge Theresa McGonigle denied the singer bail.

Beyond allegations of murdering the teen, the District Attorney alleged that D4vd repeatedly sexually abused her over the time he knew her, mutilated her body, and killed her for financial gain.

Because there was an active investigation into Burke’s alleged sexual misconduct with Hernandez at the time of her death, the D.A. also alleged that the murder constituted the killing of a witness.

His lawyers refute the notions.

“Let us be clear — the actual evidence in this case will show that David Burke did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez and he was not the cause of her death,” Burke’s legal team of Blair Berk, Marilyn Bednarski and Regina Peter, said in a recent statement.

If convicted, Burke – now 21-years-old – is facing life in prison or the death penalty.
