Courtney Clenney pleads guilty to manslaughter in stabbing death of Christian Obumseli

The former OnlyFans model received a six-year prison sentence and is expected to serve about two more years.

Former OnlyFans model Courtney Clenney has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the 2022 stabbing death of her boyfriend, Christian “Toby” Obumseli. Under the plea agreement, Clenney was sentenced to six years in prison but is expected to serve about two more years after receiving credit for time already spent behind bars.

Clenney, 30, entered the plea Monday, Aug. 10, in a Miami courtroom. She was sentenced to six years in prison followed by five years of probation. Because she has already spent roughly four years in custody, she is expected to serve approximately two additional years behind bars, according to People. Obumseli was killed on April 3, 2022, one day after Clenney told police she wanted to end their relationship and have him leave their home.

Courtney Clenney told investigators that she acted in self-defense, claiming she threw a kitchen knife at Obumseli from about 10 feet away. However, the medical examiner classified his death as a homicide and said the three-inch downward wound to his shoulder did not support Clenney’s account. Clenney was arrested four months later at a rehabilitation facility in Hawaii and charged with second-degree murder.

Her defense had planned to present evidence alleging that Obumseli had been abusive during their relationship. Obumseli’s family disputed and maintained that Christian was the victim of domestic violence. The plea agreement described the couple’s relationship as “extremely tempestuous and combative” and acknowledged a history of domestic violence incidents.

Miami-Dade County State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle said prosecutors viewed the stabbing as part of an escalating pattern of violence toward Obumseli. The plea agreement was reached with the involvement and approval of Obumseli’s family. His brother, Jeffrey Obumseli, previously told PEOPLE that the family continued to struggle with the loss.“Because of this, I won’t be able to grow old with my brother,” he said in 2024.

Courtney Clenney, who had built a large following as an OnlyFans creator and social media influencer before Obumseli’s death, will now serve the remainder of her sentence before beginning five years of probation.
