Chart Check: Drake Becomes the First Artist in History with Over 400 Hot 100 Hits

Drake is in celebration mode – and rightfully so.

Just days after the 5-time GRAMMY winner earned his record-breaking 15th #1 hit on the Billboard 200 with his ‘Iceman‘ album, he learned one of the project’s tracks – ‘Janice STFU‘ – debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100 in similar historic fashion.

The rapper now has 15 #1 albums and 14 #1 songs to his name, breaking records previously held by JAY-Z and Michael Jackson respectively in the process.

And while he’s raising a glass to several history-making achievements on the charts this week alone thanks to cuts found aboard his recent three-album drop ‘Iceman,’ ‘Habibti,’ and ‘Maid of Honour,’ a standout accomplishment comes courtesy of songs from the projects occupying a whopping 42 spots on this week’s Hot 100.

Beyond setting the record for most simultaneous placements (a title previously owned by the 37 spots Country superstar Morgan Wallen once held concurrently), Drizzy pushed his cumulative total of appearances on the all-genre chart to 402.

Already the only artist in the Hot 100’s 67-year history to own more than 300 entries, the hop over the 400 threshold widens the gap between himself and his nearest competitor Taylor Swift (who has 276).

Of Drake’s career totals, he now has 47 top 5 hits, 90 top 10s, 154 top 20s, and 241 top 40s – the most among all artists in each category.

Look below to see who joins him in the top 10 on the updated TGJ Chart Check.

Drake Celebrates 15 No. 1 Albums and 14 No. 1 Songs: 'Back Broke From Carrying the Game'

The rapper shared the image on Instagram Stories after breaking records held by Jay-Z and Michael Jackson.

Taking to Instagram stories on Tuesday (May 26), Drizzy shared an image showing him surrounded by balloons with a massive smile.

“Neck broke from carrying the chain, back broke from carrying the game, records broken carry on my name, carry on carry on,” read the text at the bottom (as seen above).

As if the history-making domination of charts isn’t enough to celebrate, the 38-year-old may soon repeat the feat as he’s rumored to already be hard-at-work on another album that may be released before the year’s end.
