BFI London Film Festival 2025: TGJ’s Must-See Picks

The BFI London Film Festival is rolling out the red carpet for its 69th edition, and with the unveiling of its official trailer, we’ve officially entered “countdown” mode.

Each year, the globally renowned event serves as a seismic celebration of film in all its forms. From titles led by  Hollywood royalty to must-see showings from breakout stars to stirring international offerings.

And this year’s programme, which runs from October 8 to October 19, is no exception.

The must-see lineup of films fuses buzzy world premieres, awards-season hopefuls, and cinematic gems that are poised to have the masses talking long after the credits roll.

Here at That Grape Juice, we’ve already got our eye on a few standouts from the newly unveiled slate.

Join us below….

‘Hedda’

Tessa Thompson takes center stage in this contemporary reimagining of Henrik Ibsen’s classic play, which promises drama, intensity, and powerhouse performances.

‘After the Hunt’

Starring Julia Roberts and Ayo Edebiri, this thriller fuses academia with mystery, all set against the backdrop of a scandal that refuses to stay buried.

‘Die, My Love’

Led by Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson, this psychological, dark drama explores themes of postpartum depression and more.

‘Bugonia’

Emma Stone and Yorgos Lanthimos re-team for their fourth outing in what promises to be a gripping, dark, satirical comedy-thriller.

‘Love, Brooklyn’

Rachael Abigail Holder and André Holland lead this nostalgic yet modern romance set against the city that never sleeps.
