The Library of Congress has unveiled the latest additions to its National Recording Registry, and the 2026 class is packed with legendary names across generations, and this year, pop royalty takes centre stage.

Among this year’s most notable inductees are Beyonce‘s culture-shifting anthem ‘Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)’ and Taylor Swift‘s blockbuster album ‘1989,’ two of the few 21st-century recordings to earn the prestigious honor.

Elsewhere, classics from Chaka Khan‘s ‘Feel For You’, Ray Charles’ ‘Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music’ album, and The Go-Go’s also secured spots on the registry alongside broadcasts, soundtracks, and country staples.

The Registry now houses 700 recordings in total, all selected for their cultural, historical, and artistic significance.
