The Oct. 28 event comes as Democrats make a final push for early voting ahead of Georgia’s Nov. 3 general election.
Former President Barack Obama will join U.S. Sen. Jon Ossoff and Democratic gubernatorial nominee Keisha Lance Bottoms at a campaign rally in Atlanta on Wednesday, October 28, according to FOX 5 Atlanta. The event will bring together Democratic candidates across Georgia’s state ballot ahead of the November 3 general election.
The rally is scheduled for 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. EDT. Organizers say admission will be first-come, first-served, and attendees must RSVP online. Registration does not guarantee entry or seating. The exact venue and parking instructions have not been publicly announced. Registered attendees are expected to receive those details by email 24 hours before the event. Security screenings will be required, and large bags and outside signage will not be permitted, FOX 5 Atlanta reported.
Bottoms is expected to discuss proposals to expand Medicaid and invest in Georgia’s education programs. The rally is also intended to highlight early voting as the state approaches the final days of its advance-voting period. Obama previously endorsed Bottoms in the governor’s race, releasing a video urging Georgians to support her candidacy.
The rally comes as both parties increase their campaign activity across Georgia. President Donald Trump recently campaigned in Dalton alongside Republican Senate candidate Mike Collins and Republican gubernatorial nominee Rick Jackson. Vice President JD Vance has also visited Atlanta to support Republican candidates, according to FOX 5 Atlanta.
Ossoff is seeking reelection to the U.S. Senate, where he faces Collins. Bottoms is running against Jackson to succeed term-limited Gov. Brian Kemp. Georgia’s early-voting period for the November 3 general election runs from October 13 through October 30, according to the state government. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3.
